Life’s Adventures

I’m from Brno, a city in South Moravia, Czechia (back then, it was Czechoslovakia). Brno is touted as the second largest city in the country, but with its unique Czech humour, some folks call it the biggest village around. As long as Mum’s here, it’s home sweet home for me.

Honestly, I didn’t stick around Brno much in my younger days. I grew up there, but in my late twenties, I packed up for Prague, the capital. I spent twelve glorious years there, until even Prague felt too small. That’s when I headed to Sydney for college, studying Business Management.

But back in my youth—after attending a graphic design-specialised high school, I ventured into entrepreneurship. With time, I found myself working for big names as an Art Director and Copywriter. Don’t get me wrong, using your brain and creativity to turn a blank page into a killer ad was a blast for almost two decades. But once you’ve conquered that, it’s time to move forward, no looking back. My final stint in the creative world was as Head of Art, leading a team for a major Czech company. But then, I felt boxed in and there seemed little left to achieve, so I packed my bags. And I mean, really packed them.

I was done with the corporate creativity gig, deciding to channel it solely into my writing from then on. Plus, I bid adieu to Europe and hopped over to Australia. Starting from scratch? They don’t tell you how tough, messy, and downright challenging it can be—but trust me, it’s worth every bit. Down under, I met some fantastic people and ticked off a few lifelong dreams, like living in a house with a breathtaking ocean view and mastering English well enough to pen my books in it.

And I was writing, of course. I made several attempts at books, but I found more success selling columns to the local paper or publishing political blogs. In my thirties, luck finally smiled on me with my first book—a series of three Erotica & Humor short stories that I thoroughly enjoyed crafting, and thankfully, readers loved them too. There’s still one colossal goal left to achieve. That dream call from a respected agent, or better yet, a publisher saying they want to publish my next book. If you’re reading this, well, it means I made it. Cheers to that!
